BALL & CLAW FOOT

Although this example is from a later reproduction, it has been carved with nice size and detail evocative of the 18th century Chippendale original. The suppressed ball and talon shape suggests a Philadelphia reference. 

   

The replacement is made from solid mahogany to match the leg as a cast resin replacement would probably not survive daily living in this vulnerable, protruding position.
