EASTLAKE TABLE REPAIR
Restoration Projects
This solid walnut table is over 120 years old and has a good finish but the glue joints have finally failed (dried out from age) and it fell apart. Our high skill level allows us to re-glue it to original strength with no damage to the finish.
The three most important keys to effective re-gluing of furniture joints are:
Preparation - joint surfaces should be free of debris and old glue.
Adhesive - we use traditional hot hide glue on most joints for its open time and reversibility.
Clamp Pressure - joints must be pulled up completely and squarely with a little "squeeze out" of glue for a good bond.
